As a proud veteran and grateful U.S. citizen, I fully support every American’s right to express their opinion. However, the current political landscape has made constructive dialogue incredibly difficult. Rather than engaging in logical debate, disagreement is too frequently met with a standard list of dismissive labels like “snowflake,” “woke,” or “radical leftist.” This reliance on personal attacks rather than substance is deeply frustrating
The long-term consequences of President Trump’s rhetoric and actions will unfortunately outlast his time in office. Internationally, our standing has been diminished, and our relationships with historic, long-term allies are severely strained. Domestically, the administration nurtured an environment where divisive, hateful, and exclusionary rhetoric is treated as a cultural norm, largely insulated from accountability.
Events like January 6th should have been a definitive turning point in modern American history, yet we now see those actions reframed as acts of patriotism. True leadership requires an understanding that public institutions belong to the nation, not the individual.
A Note on Community Moderation: I welcome civil debate and differing perspectives. However, dehumanizing language, personal attacks, or misinformation will be removed. Let’s focus on ideas, not insults.
